Give Your Heart is an open-ended, participatory performance, both involving and reflecting the Philadelphia community. Introduced during the 2019 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, the event used medical technology as an inroad to participatory events. Participants had their heartbeats recorded and simultaneously played back into Love Plaza as an abstract soundscape. The intrinsic nature of the encounter between health professional and patient further complicated the interaction, asking questions of public and private exchanges.

The musical interpretation also changes how the public relates to the performance. Through this action, participants are simultaneously musicians, composers, and instruments, revealing the incredible sonic capabilities of the human body.
